Nikki B. Troxclair, APR


Assistant Vice President, Health Sciences Communications

Nikki Troxclair leads strategic communications and media relations for the Woodruff Health Sciences Center‘s academic, research, and clinical components. Troxclair also builds upon key relationships with communications leaders at affiliated hospitals such as Grady Health System, the U.S. Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta as well as Georgia Institute of Technology, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and others.

Troxclair brings more than two decades of experience in marketing, public relations, crisis communications, executive communications, and branding, most recently as Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Communications at the University of Northern Colorado. At UNC, Ms. Troxclair oversaw the offices of Creative Services, Marketing, News and Public Relations, and Web Communications. Before joining UNC, she served as Vice President of Strategic Communications and Marketing at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where she oversaw an integrated marketing communications team that implemented numerous enrollment marketing campaigns while increasing brand awareness for the university.

Troxclair’s experience in higher education also includes serving as associate vice president of University Marketing & Communications at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) where she led a department of 30 professionals and was part of the leadership team that oversaw communications efforts for the 2016 final presidential debate. She also supported communications for the establishment and opening of UNLV's School of Medicine.

Troxclair also has experience in health care marketing and communications. She was part of the leadership team for the Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, an affiliate of Baptist Health Care, where she oversaw strategic marketing and communications to support its physicians and clinical departments to include the grand opening of the facility.

A Saint Paul, Minnesota native, Troxclair earned a master’s degree in Urban Leadership and Public Policy at UNLV, a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Minnesota and has completed MBA courses at the University of South Carolina. She is accredited in public relations from the Public Relations Society of America, holds a LEED AP designation from the United States Green Building Council, and is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

Among her honors, she has been awarded by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education for her role in leading the development of admissions, marketing and development campaigns. She has also earned the Gold Award from the University Professional & Continuing Education Association (UPCEA), an Image and Judges’ Awards from the Florida Public Relations Association, and a Silver Addy Award from the Advertising Federation of America. She has also held various community and organizational leadership positions in Nevada, Minnesota, Georgia and Florida.
