Once you have created and edited your video files, a few final steps are required before they are ready to be uploaded and distributed via Emory's YouTube Channel. Emory's YouTube Channel is managed by University Marketing. For more in-depth information, email University Marketing.
Prior to the distribution of any Emory University audio or video, it is essential to be certain that Emory has either the copyright or the rights to distribute the material.
Please have all featured speakers complete and return the Speaker Release Form found on the Emory iTunes U website. Forms must be signed and faxed in to University Communications (404.727.3750) to become part of the comprehensive database.
Also be sure to check that there is no copyrighted audio or video used by those featured in your audio or video multimedia. Presenters often use slides of copyrighted images or maps that are fine for educational use, but not for promotional use.
All audio and video files are required to include the Emory University-branded intros and exits. These files should be added to the very beginning and very end of your file.

If you need an HD version, please contact Ann Borden of Emory Photo/Video.
Ensure that your video file does not exceed 20 GB, but is not smaller than 640x480 resolution. The large file size allows for both high quality and HD videos to be uploaded to YouTube. More detailed information on file size and resolution.
Preferred file types to upload to YouTube are Quicktime (.mov) and MPEG (.mp4). For a full list of file formats, see this list from YouTube. If you need to convert a file to an acceptable format, make an appointment with Emory's Center for Interactive Technology to use the lab's Episode Pro program to do the conversion.
For inclusion on the Emory YouTube Channel, you must submit your video file to one of the YouTube admins:
University Marketing: Available to general university
Emory Photo/Video: Handles uploading of projects to both YouTube and iTunes U for clients
Health Sciences: Wendy Darling, available for Woodruff Health Science Center projects
Emory College: Brian Williams and Hal Jacobs, available for Emory College projects
University Marketing can facilitate the majority of upload requests, and upon request, provide spreadsheets of viewer data including how views are discovering your video, some demographic information and more.
